- Always ensure fire doors are not wedged open by items such as wooden wedges or extinguishers.
- Ensure that any combustible materials (paper, cardboard) are kept away from heat producing equipment (hot lights, electric heaters, toasters, boilers).
- Ensure that any combustible storage (especially high level) on racks is not within approximately 500mm (1/2 a metre) of any hot lights.
- Ensure that all escape routes & walkways are kept clear of any trip hazards or items that may fall over and block an escape route.
- Always report any fire safety concern to your fire warden or manager - however minor you may feel it is.
